In
the summer, Yellowstone National Park entrances open on different
dates when snow crews are able to clear the roads. This year,
the West Entrance opens on April 22, 2005. The season runs from
mid-April to late-October. Once an entrance or road opens, it
is open 24 hours. The only exceptions are caused by road construction
and weather-caused restrictions.
Although
most visitors use private vehicles to get around inside Yellowstone
National Park, scenic bus tours are available during the summer
season. We recommend taking a bus tour on one of the first days
you visit to orient you and help you decide which area you'd like
to explore in depth during your stay.
